Message from the District 2 Commander

 

I am sitting here on Christmas Eve day reviewing the district dashboard for both All-State and All- American. We are approaching the mid-way point in just a few days and the District, Post, and all the Members have been very impressive this year. I would like to share where we are at this point in our 2025-26 year.

Let’s start with our work in reporting:

Veterans Assistance – 189

Legislative – 131

POW/MIA – 136

Community Involvement – 462

Americanism – 205

Recruitment – 119

VSO Events – 90

While we still have a few posts with lower-than-expected numbers, most of the post are doing well in getting the work they are doing recorded. We are at just under 86% of the total reports made in the full 12 months last year, let’s keep up the great work. We are doing great in membership so far this year, we only need 53 renews/new members to be where we last year. To reach our 101% membership at district level we will need to get a total of 106 by end of the VFW year.

I will be sending out to each post a list of annual members for the last 2 years that have expired or will be expiring in the next 6 months. Let’s not wait for their memberships to expire, use the list to reach out and either get them to upgrade to life members or renew now. If we can get all of them to renew in some sort of fashion we will have renewed a total of 358 members; this would not only put district at over 101%, every post would achieve that high goal. Continue the work you have been doing and most of your post will make All-State this year.

Now a look at the All-American situation.

VMS Donation, 8 posts need to make their donations (remember this is an online donation to national).

Voice Of Democracy, all posts have completed.

Patriots Pen, all posts have completed.

Poppy Order, 3 posts need to place their order.

Membership, 2 posts have reached or exceeded goal.

Community Service, all but 1 have reached the mid-year goal (Remember this is every quarter requirement).

Day of Service, if your post has not decided what to do in May it is time to work on that. Make sure you get it identified at national and take plenty of pictures and write a complimentary review for it.

As you can see, we have been busy doing our mission and it shows, I will be proud to give the Council of Administration my report in February as it will have even better information on all of your hard work.
