Marilyn Richards - Adjutant

VFW Post 280 – Columbia, Missouri

Marilyn Richards is a U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force veteran with over 20 years of combined military and federal civilian service. She served aboard USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) as an Aviation Boatswain’s Mate before continuing her career in the U.S. Air Force. Today, she serves as a federal civilian with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, where she provides administrative and operational support to scientific research programs.

As the Adjutant for VFW Post 280, Marilyn is dedicated to supporting the Post through accurate recordkeeping, effective communication, and organizational leadership. She is passionate about serving veterans, strengthening community partnerships, and ensuring that the sacrifices of America’s service members are honored and remembered.

Beyond the VFW, Marilyn is the founder of Echo Tango Sierra, LLC, a veteran-owned small business focused on resilience, leadership, and supporting the veteran community. She also volunteers with local organizations and is active in her church, where she enjoys serving others through ministry and community outreach.

Marilyn believes that military service is not simply a chapter in life—it is a lifelong commitment to serving others.
